Importantia Publishing has pioneered Online Bible software. In 1992, Importantia became involved with the development of the Online Bible, primarily concentrating on European languages. Importantia continues to be the main content developer of the Online Bible. Many titles published by Importantia can be found either on the Online Bible DVD-ROM, or via Online Bible apps. Some titles have been developed exclusively for the Online Bible.

Since 2016, the Online Bible applications (Android, iOS and macOS) are managed by Cross Link Services BV.  Importantia is involved, only as content developer.
