The New Geneva Bible (German title: Neue Genfer Übersetzung, simplified as NGÜ) is a German Bible version incorporating the dynamic equivalence method of translation; in this case, the original meaning of the specific text is converted to similar meaning German phrases (as opposed to the formal equivalence method of word-for-word translation). To make the original meaning as clear as possible, this translation contains roughly 8000 footnotes with either alternative translations or explanations of the translation used.
The NGÜ allows one to read the entire New Testament and Psalms in today’s language.
